Santander

Rebranding over 720 branches and ATMs across the UK and Ireland in six months is no small task.

Pragmatic approach

The move followed global banking giant, Santander's decision to rebrand its UK banking division portfolio under one single brand before the end of 2010. With the worlds media watching, the transition of Abbey retail banking to Santander had to be faultless.

Endpoint was entrusted to manage the task. Our role included the management of site surveys, brand schemes, procurement, statutory applications, supply chain management and installation supervision to ensure the program was fully managed centrally.

For maximum impact, all 722 branches were revealed over three busy weekends in January 2010. Santander’s Executive Chairman, Emilio Botin joined by Formula One Champion, Lewis Hamilton, kicked off the launch event by unveiling a rebranded branch in central London to the media.

Endpoint's pragmatic approach ensured the project was completed on time and on budget whilst ensuring comprehensive quality and value. Subsequently, Santander has become the fastest growing brand in absolute terms, increasing its brand value by 136% to become the twelfth most valuable brand in the world, rising from 41st place last year, according to the BrandFinance® Global 500 report.

Following the highly successful completion of the program, Endpoint secured a further project to survey a number of key Santander branches for further promotional opportunities.
